Annual Global Cuisine of Queens

Russo’s On The Bay hosted the 7th Annual “Global Cuisine of Queens”. Billed as “A Culinary Celebration to Benefit The South Queens Boys and Girls Club” , it was a great success. Over 350 people attended the event that highlighted excellent cuisine from some of Queens most notable restaurants. Food and wine was supplied by Russo’s On The Bay, Giardino’s, The Amagansett Wine Co., Amici’s, August Martin High School, California Pizza Kitchen, Danny’s Zsechuan, London Lennie’s, La Dolce Bakery, Manor Oktoberfest, Matteo’s, O’Lavrador, Sybil’s Bakery, Tequila Sunrise, That’s A Wrap, Uncle Bacala, Woodhaven House and Frank Russo Jr.’s newest restaurant, Vetro.

While I didn’t get to taste all this great fare, it was obvious on the faces of the crowd that everyone thoroughly enjoyed all the different styles of food that make Queens the most diverse county in the whole country! As I said, the event benefited The South Queen’s Boys and Girls Club as they strive to reach their Capital Campaign goal of $9 million to completely renovate their facility. Carol Simon, Executive Director, welcomed Queens Borough President Helen Marshall who announced her on going support for the organization, in word and deed as her contributions from the Queens County budget now total nearly $3 million.

Russo’s was very happy to support such a worthy organization. We hope you get out there and taste all the great tastes Queens has to offer.
